This is an opportunity to work with other dedicated, conservation minded, citizens and organizations to further conservation of the environment in Hennepin County.

There are two ways to become a Supervisor of the Hennepin Conservation District: the General Election process and the Open Appointment process. Here is information on how each of the processes work.

The General Election Process

Supervisor positions become available to be filled through the General Election process on a staggered basis depending upon when and how any of the five positions were last filled.

The HCD will post a notice on its main page prior to any General Election detailing which position(s) may be available and for which district. Note that for General Elections, you must live in the district that is to be filled.

The Hennepin County Taxpayer Services Division will also post all relevant information about application and qualifications.

The Open Appointment Process

When a Supervisor position becomes available due to the resignation or dismissal of a sitting Supervisor, Minnesota state statute designates that the position may be filled by appointment until the next general election.

While there are at this time no open positions, you may still file an application so that you will be on record should one become available.

Follow the links below for more information on how you may apply for this interesting and rewarding position. The Notice of Open Appointment is for the last open position that was filled. Future announcements would follow this format. The Application Form may be used at any time to make an advance application. The Policy was developed specifically for unique needs of the HCD.
